Last updated: September 2026. This notice explains what M J COURTENAY PTY LTD (ABN 38 701 111 177), trading as Tide & Timber Cafe, collects through this website and how we handle it, in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
- Function enquiries. Your name, email, optional phone number, event date, guest numbers and message. We use these only to reply to you and plan your function.
- Site analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies and without tracking you across other sites.
- Online orders. Orders are handled by Square on its own site under Square’s privacy policy. We receive your order details from Square to make your food.
Cookies
This site doesn’t set cookies. Your browser may remember small preferences on your own device, such as whether you’ve already seen the logo animation this visit.
How enquiries are handled
Enquiries are stored on our own server and read by the cafe team. We may use an automated assistant to sort them and draft replies, and a person from the cafe reviews them. We don’t sell your details or use them for marketing unless you ask us to.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for up to 12 months after your event, then delete them.
Access, corrections and complaints
Email [email protected] to see, correct or delete what we hold about you, or to make a complaint. If you’re not happy with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Third-party services
Weather and marine data come from Open-Meteo.com and are fetched by our server, so your browser doesn’t contact them. Links to Facebook, Google Maps and Square take you to their sites, where their policies apply.
